This year over 40 volunteers helped shop for 144 children so they can have a brighter Christmas! This annual event, spanning two decades, is one the Sheriff's Office works to spread Christmas cheer and blessings to those children and families who are less fortunate. "I am truly blessed and honored to live and work in a county where so many come together to help make a child's life better", said Sheriff Scott Owen. "I am proud of my staff who put in many hours, in addition to their regular duties, to prepare for this annual event", continued Sheriff Owen. Volunteers and trustees helped to wrap presents over 6 days and the gift giving culminated wtih Santa himself along with Mrs. Claus to present the presents. Cookies and punch were on hand as well as "Nutty" the elf (who is a bit larger than regular elves) to spread Christmas cheer, greetings, and blessings!  Merry Christmas to all of Washington County, the State of Oklahoma and these United States of America!
